Old Bexley Primary School will represent the borough at the London Heathrow Youth Games, thanks to a brilliant performance at this year's New Image Rugby Festival. The rules of the game allow only touch-tackling and teams are made up of seven players. Old Bexley entered six teams in the competition at Sidcup Rugby Club on April 30. However, it was the Year 6 squad of four girls and six boys which came away with the trophy.

After winning their pool, they progressed to the finals group where a string of fine efforts earned them the honour of representing Bexley against the other London boroughs in the Youth Games at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on July 9. Before that the team plays at the Kent finals on July 3.
