MORE than £1,700 has been given to community groups in Dartford, Gravesend and Swanley by the Co-operative Group.
DIAL North West Kent, which provides information and advice for the disabled, received £800 to buy two minicoms and have its literature translated into Punjabi, Urdu and Chinese.
DIAL chairman Cecilia Kennedy said: This grant will help us reach people with hearing difficulties and those from different ethnic groups."
Other groups benefiting were the local Cruse Bereavement Care, which received £300, and Dartford YMCA After School Club which plans to use its £500 to extend its service to school holidays.
The grants are made through the Co-operative Group's Community Dividened fund which can be supported by using its customer loyalty card.
