Two police officers from Borehamwood were involved in a car crash on Sunday.
The officers, based at Borehamwood Police Station, were in Potters Bar at around 6pm when they responded to an emergency 999 call in Borehamwood.
But at the junction of Mutton Lane and Windmore Avenue their car hit a tree, and both officers suffered injuries.
The female driver suffered a fractured sternum and her male passenger a broken thigh. Both are now being treated at Barnet Hospital.
Investigating officer Insp Phillip Bloor said: "The circumstances of the collision are being investigated. We would like to speak to anyone who saw the car before or after it hit the tree or the collision itself."
Anyone with information is asked to telephone Sgt Steven Seaman on 01707 638707.
