DELIVERIES of clear recycling sacks will begin next week, the Isle of Wight Council said today (Wednesday).
Households that use the clear sacks for recyclable rubbish will receive a 12 month supply instead of six months, as was the case last year.
Deliveries will begin on Monday (7) and should take five weeks to complete, so all households should have their sacks by February 11, according to the Isle of Wight Council.
In the meantime, anyone who has run out of clear sacks can put recyclable items in white sacks instead, or take waste to the recycling facilities at Lynbottom, Afton and Forest Road.

Surely it would be easier if the clear recycling sacks were put into the supermarkets and shops next to the black sacks so people could obtain them when needed. Save the council time and money sending people out delivering them to every household on the island. Different households require different amounts. Not everyone runs out at the same time!

Where can I recycle the millions I still have left, will Recycling-bag-recycling-bags be delivered too?

I understand a lot of households had run out of recycling sacks some time ago, so February will be a long time to wait. It would make more sense to have a collection point where people can go to collect more sacks. It would save unnecessary car journeys to the tip...
