James Fulford, who has stood down as chief executive of Isle of Wight Ferry company Red Funnel.
CHIEF Executive of Red Funnel, James Fulford, is quitting his job after four years at the helm of the Isle of Wight ferry company.
Red Funnel announced Mr Fulford’s departure today (Friday). The firm pledged its commitment to customers and serving the Isle of Wight economy remained unaltered.
Mr Fulford will become CEO of Condor Ferries, which runs from Guernsey and Jersey to Portsmouth, Poole, Cherbourg and St Malo.
Paul Winter, currently group chief financial officer, has been appointed interim chief executive while the company completes its search for a new boss.
Mr Fulford will remain on the Red Funnel board until the end of the year.
Mr Fulford said: "My time at Red Funnel has been amongst the most enjoyable of my working life.
"We have worked hard to engage with and meet the needs of our customers and, although there is much work left for my successors, I can look back on the last four years with some sense of achievement.
"Red Funnel is in good heart and I wish it every success for the future."
James Cooper, chairman of Red Funnel, added: "We will miss James’ enthusiasm, passion and drive but we look forward with confidence to the next phase in the businesses development under a new leader with a fresh perspective on how we will achieve our long term ambitions for Red Funnel."
