THE first ever Relay for Life will be brought to the Isle of Wight by Cancer Research.
While the event will not happen until September, there will be a launch event at the Anchor in Cowes on Friday.
There will be live music from Blonde Bombshell and the Cancer Research team will be on hand to sign people up for the event.
On the day of the relay, fundraisers will take turns to walk around the track at Smallbrook Stadium to show that cancer never sleeps.
The relay will open with a cancer survivors' lap of honour, and in the evening, there will be a candle of hope ceremony to pay tribute to those affected by the disease.
There will also be a closing ceremony, where everyone will join together for the final lap to celebrate their fundraising achievements.
Relay For Life will be held at Smallbrook Stadium on September 16 .
