RESIDENTS have been reminded they must register to vote if they want a say in major changes to policing on the Isle of Wight.
The election to choose a new Police and Crime Commissioner, who will influence policing issues, budgets and senior appointments, takes place on November 15.
Over the last two months annual voter registration forms have been sent out by the Isle of Wight Council.
Clive Joynes, Isle of Wight Council elections manager, said: "You have to be on the electoral register if you want to have your say in the first Police and Crime Commissioner elections.
"Some people wrongly assume that paying council tax means that you are registered to vote. I am urging all those eligible to vote to return their form as soon as possible."
The deadline to register is October 31.
Anyone who has not received a form or would like a replacement can contact electoral services on 821000.
Residents who would like more information can call, or e-mail electoral.services@iow.gov.uk
