A SWIMMER who was pulled from the sea off Shanklin beach on Friday, last week, has died.
The man, in his 60s, was rescued by friends and passers-by, including an off-duty paramedic who was on holiday at the time.
Efforts were made to resuscitate him and he was taken by ambulance to St Mary's Hospital where he was admitted to the intensive care unit in a critical condition.
A hospital spokesman said however that the man had died last night (Thursday).
