REVELLERS across the Isle of Wight took to the sea and the streets to see in the new year yesterday (Tuesday).
Pubs in Cowes were packed with people in fancy dress until the early hours, with superhero and comic book costumes proving particularly popular.
Taking inspiration from their favourite films, groups of friends dressed as Star Wars, Wizard of Oz and Batman characters.
Huge crowds made their way to Cowes Yacht Haven to celebrate the new year at the Electric 80s party, where they danced the night away and were treated to a fireworks display as the clock struck midnight.
In Sandown, dozens of hardy swimmers took to the water in aid of the Sandown and Shanklin Inshore Lifeboat.
The Royal Pier Hotel sold hot snacks to the chilly onlookers, raising £600 for the charity.
Meanwhile there were reports that Hollywood stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were on the Island again to celebrate New Year’s Eve.
