MORE than 30 kind-hearted riders from around the Isle of Wight took part in a ride-out to deliver gifts for children in hospital over Christmas.

The annual toy run, from the Sorrento Lodge bed and breakfast establishment in The Strand, Ryde, to St Mary’s Hospital children’s ward, was held on Sunday.

The rally, called Riders of the Wight, which involved members of the Isle of Wight Scooter Club, the Wight Wasps and the Towrags Motorcycle Club, with various solo riders, included motorcyclists for the first time.

All the gifts delivered were carried in a support vehicle.

Toy run organiser Sarah Morris said: "It all went really well. The ward staff were really pleased and the weather was very nice.

"It was a nice way to start December — helping other people."
