Riverfest the best yet

MORE than 4,000 people headed to the latest Riverfest on Saturday.

The annual Isle of Wight event, held at Newport Quay, celebrates the River Medina and promoting ecology and green initiatives.

Marine, community, conservation groups and charities had stalls at the event and there was the chance to enjoy time on the water thanks to free boat and canoe trips thanks to Medina Valley Centre and Cowes Sailability.

Organiser Ray Harrington-Vail, of The Footprint Trust, said the event had been the most successful to date.

For a full report and more pictures, please see the Isle of Wight County Press on Friday, May 23.
