RUGBY: Bishop's Stortford easily dealt with Old Merchant Taylors in London League North division two on Saturday, cruising to a 45-7 win.

Andy Bennett opened the scoring with a try, converted by Stewart Haslam, and the Silver Leys side never looked back. Gordon Waddell added a second try, but a stop-start OMT display meant that the home side were always comfortable.

A quick penalty from Haslam was followed by a contender for the club's try of the season. Full back Julian Floyd weaved a trail through a seemingly non-existent defence from his own half before going over himself. Haslam added another conversion for a half-time lead of 24-7 and there was more to come after the break.

The second period was all Stortford. Scott Gleed went over, followed by Haslam and Kiwi Burton. Scott Hadfield converted two of the tries as Stortford strolled home.
