A CRASH led to the closure of Fairlee Road, according to Island Roads, this afternoon (Tuesday).
The highways PFI company said at around 3.15pm that the road had been closed by Isle of Wight police, due to a collision.
The crash occurred close to the Island Harbour junction, however the whole road was closed.
A police spokesman said no-one was believed to be seriously injured, but all three vehicles would need to be recovered. A three year old who was in one of the cars was said to be shaken.
The crash involved a blue BMW estate, a silver Diahatsu Sirion and a silver VW Golf.
Bus company Southern Vectis said all its route 5 and 9 buses would divert via Staplers.
The road re-opened at around 4.10pm according to police.
