Road closed after three-vehicle crash

THREE vehicles have been involved in a crash in Lushington Hill on the Isle of Wight, late this morning (Tuesday).

A Suzuki pick up, a red convertible Mazda and a third vehicle, described as a lorry, were involved in the incident at 11.47am.

The road has been closed between the Isle of Wight Crematorium roundabout and Harwoods Garage in Wootton.

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service and the police attended the scene.

According to a police spokesman, one person was initially trapped but managed to free themselves.

One person sustained a shoulder injury and another was complaining of neck pains.

Island Roads has been asked to attend to clear up a fuel and oil spillage.

Police spokesman said the third vehicle was a white Iveco lorry.

*The road has been reopened.
