Three to four thousand pounds worth of goods were seized and one man arrested in a raid on Wednesday.

In a joint operation between Harlow police, Epping Forest District Council and a DSS team, a home in Tylers Cross, Nazeing was entered at 8am.

Two stolen vehicles were recovered and one person was arrested on suspicion of the theft of these vehicles.

He has now been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Three to four thousand pounds worth of goods were also seized in lieu of council tax.

Sgt Andy Bray, from Harlow police, said the operation, which involved 20 officers, was a good example of close co-operation between the police and other agencies.

"We are already doing what the Crime and Disorder Bill sets us out to do -- establishing an effective partnership between us and other agencies," he said.

"We had been observing the premises for some time, and the raid went very well."~
