The Blue Room is best-known from the notorious West End production which saw Nicole Kidman appear on stage naked in the female lead.
This adult drama, which is being performed at the Fairfield Halls, sadly without Kidman, is adapted by Hare from the short story, La Ronde. It explores the nature of sexual relations in an increasingly indifferent world.
John Newman, from Newpalm Production, is directing. He said: "It's adult, we've put the warnings on the posters. There is nudity in it and it is at times fairly sexually explicit."
The show has just two actors but they play 10 roles between them. It started off as a collection of sketches about trying to find the ideal partner. Newman said: "It's about the merry-go-round of life. You meet people, you form alliances and you leave people. It is all about what you take as a learning situation out of each of those."
The Blue Room is a bit of a departure for the company. Newman said: "It's good to put new plays on, especially for younger people."
