Rotary sale brings in the cash

ALMOST £40,000 has been raised by this year's Shanklin Rotary sale.

The annual event, held at Lower Hyde Holiday Park, was opened this year by Level 42 star Mark King.

Organised by Shanklin Rotary, the week-long sale had support from across the community, including Shanklin Rowing Club, Sandown and Shanklin Hurricanes Rugby Club and the Inner Wheel.

Planning started in November, but collections of donated items from the Isle of Wight Community were made throughout last year.

Tony Compton, of Shanklin Rotary, thanked Islanders for their support.
