I ALWAYS said local government was all Greek to me. And it's true!
When Bexley Council swopped to its new Cabinet-style organisation, it created a website to deposit all the reports and background papers which cabinet members use to make their decisions, writes chief reporter Linda piper.
For months I have been trying to get into this site to see the reports, and have failed miserably.
Many phonecalls and visits between IT experts and the problem was finally solved.
So, with great anticipation, I logged onto the www.bexley.gov.uk site, waiting to browse among reports on secretarial support and special needs transport to my heart's content.
Success! I was in. But what was this? Every report I called up was in a foreign language which looked suspiciously like Greek!
Bexley's IT expert soon had the site back in English, but still has no idea why all the reports came up in the Greek alphabet.
Maybe someone was trying to tell me something!
