A BECKENHAM youngster has become Croydon's Trainee of the Year.
Katherine Causton, aged 19, of Westfield Road, scooped top honours after giving up her A levels two years ago and moving to Croydon College to study for vocational qualifications.
Seven months later she started her Modern Apprenticeship and has never looked back.
The Trainee of the Year award is run annually by Croydon Council and this year was sponsored by Stonehams solicitors.
Katherine said: "I have learned a lot at the college. I believe my interpersonal skills have improved and developed. I used to be nervous on the telephone and when meeting people."
"I was shocked when I got the award but very pleased as it will look good on my CV."
Katherine has now been offered a job as administrative assistant with Croydon College. She starts in April.
