Increased generating capacity, mild weather and genuine efforts by housewives to economise during the 'peak' hours all contributed to the fact that there has not been a single electricity cut since last month in Richmond and Twickenham.

Twickenham Council's Pleasure Grounds Committee is to recommend leasing part of Beveree, the new public open space in Hampton, to Hampton Rifle Club for ranges. At the new home in Beveree the club will be able to provide 25 yards, 50 yards and 100 yards ranges and it will be able to build far more spacious club buildings.

Members of Twickenham Butcher's Association, at their annual general meeting at the Crown Hotel on Tuesday, complained about the poor quality of pork and beef they are forced to supply to the public, and the difficulty of cutting the current meagre ration of meat. Hope was expressed that, by the end of the year, there would be a considerable improvement in supplies.
