Sam plans tribute to help beat cancer

A PRISON officer, who lost his mother to cancer, is determined to raise money to help beat the disease.

Sam Laidler, 30, of Newport, will take part in the Brighton Half Marathon on Sunday in aid of the Breast Cancer Campaign.

His mother, Ann, died from breast cancer ten years ago. He said: "I want to try to raise as much money as possible so one day we can beat breast cancer for good."
