SANDOWN Regatta has been cancelled today (Sunday) due to bad weather.

The regatta was due to start at 10am but was called-off as the Island was battered by high winds and rain.

In a statement of Facebook, Sandown councillor, Ian Ward, said: "The committee had hoped the weather might improve but the forecast predicts continued high winds and high seas."
