Scam warning from Isle of Wight computer company

A warning has been issued by Wight Computers about an online scam.

ISLAND technology firm Wight Computers has warned of an online scam.

The Isle of Wight company said today (Friday) it was circulating around the Island like 'wildfire.'

It warned: "We have seen a very clever hoax email very swiftly doing the rounds today, appearing to be from one of your contacts containing a link to a "secured file" that you should open.

"The message contains your contact’s full email signature so it looks suspiciously genuine.

"However the link takes you to a spoof Google Docs login page where it asks you to hand over your login details for your online accounot – Google, Outlook, Yahoo, AOL etc.

"Do not enter your details to this site, just delete the email and tell your contact that they have been compromised.

"If you have fallen for this, please change your online account passwords immediately and get in touch with your contacts telling them to ignore the email. If you use the same email address & password combination for other online accounts, you should change those too."
