SCHOOL dinners had the fine-dining treatment at an Isle of Wight school at the weekend.
A team from The Hambrough left behind the top-rated surroundings of the Ventnor hotel and restaurant to host a fundraising meal in aid of St Catherine’s School, Ventnor, in the school dining hall.
Around 50 people attended the three course lunch, prepared by head chef Darren Beevers and his team, with support from Medina Food Services and matching wines chosen by Matt Whishaw of Island Fine Wines.
The businesses donated their skills for free to support the school, which provides support for children with speech, language and communication needs. The event helped to raise £1,000.
Music teacher Jenny Burke was joined by musician Selina Hepworth to provide musical accompaniment.
St Catherine’s head of business and Charity Rachel Thomson said: " Thank you so much to Darren, Jo and Matt for creating such a special occasion that has been a real success in terms of fundraising too."
