A NEW 420-pupil primary school in Sandown has been approved by Isle of Wight planning chiefs.
They approved the demolition of the former Sandown CE Primary School in Grove Road and the building of a new Bay CE Primary School, at a meeting yesterday evening (Tuesday).
The ground floor of the two-storey building will house six classrooms, along with the main hall, kitchens and reception with a further eight classrooms on the first floor, as well as an outside teaching terrace, learning resource centre and staff areas.
