Schools boss unveiled

By David Newble - Wednesday, March 17, 2010
THE Island Innovation Trust, the body which will be running both Medina and Carisbrooke High Schools, has announced the appointment of its first chief executive.
Judith Richardson will move to the Isle of Wight in the summer and will work with the trust's temporary governing body and the Isle of Wight Council to create the federation of the two schools, which are set to open in September 2011.
She will also oversee the integration of the pupils and staff from the closing middle and high schools.
Mrs Richardson was the successful head of a secondary school in Bolton and also worked as one of Her Majesty's Inspector of Schools (HMI) for Ofsted.
She has also worked in the aerospace industry and is currently working as an assistant director for Somerset County Council.
Both Carisbrooke and Medina will have their own headteachers.
