LOCAL members of a national campaign group have staged a protest in Bromley town centre.
Eight members of Bromley and Beckenham Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) staged a vigil outside the Churchill Theatre, in the High Street, to protest against possible US retaliation after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.
The group managed to collect 75 signatures in an hour from people going to Whitehall for a memorial service to the victims.
CND spokesman, Ann Dixon said: "We are part of a national CND campaign to put pressure on the Government to seek a peaceful solution to the terror attacks.
"If there is a conflict, it is a war which can't be won."
