The International Scooter Custom Show at the Isle of Wight Scooter Rally. Picture by Jennifer Burton.
ALL things mod got the nod from thousands of scooterists who descended on the Isle of Wight over the Bank Holiday weekend.
More than three decades since the first Isle of Wight Scooter Rally, the event proved to be as popular as ever.
Ryde hosted the International Scooter Custom Show at Planet Ice, which featured more than 100 pristinely restored vintage scooters.
Numbers attending the gigs at the Balcony on each bank holiday weekend evening were among the best ever, with organisers having to turn away about 200 at the packed venue’s sold out show last Friday (24).
Among the highlights of the weekend's entertainment were performances by Simon Townshend — brother of The Who guitarist Pete.

A huge thank you to all who turned out and who lined the streets to wave at us and cheer us on. It was a very good natured ride out on the Sunday.

I used to have a scooter, when I lived on the Island: 1965/6/7. I would have liked to have been there for the rally, however it's a long way to travel from Surfers, Qld, Oz...Good luck to any of my old buddies reading this.
