ISLE of Wight Festival promoter John Giddings has become a Scouting Ambassador for IW Scouts.
John, who is an ex-scout, said: "It's an inspiring role and I'm honoured to be given the opportunity.
"I remember joining scouts when I was younger as it taught me a lot of important life skills I have today.
"We love having the IW Scouting team attend the festival, they are always a great addition. It's a wonderful opportunity for families to get involved and learn more about what scouts have to offer."
IW Scouts media development manager Malcolm Cox said John and the festival team had been supporters of Island scouts for more than ten years.
He said: "Initially, John allowed us to collect camping equipment left on site and sponsored a major salvage effort in 2009, when we sent a container load of equipment to the scouts and guides in Antigua.
"We now support the successful Respect and Love Your Tent camping areas, where campers sign up to take all their equipment home and dispose of their rubbish responsibly.
"John has helped us raise funds for a number of projects, including helping to send our scouts to World Jamborees and installing solar panels at our Corf Campsite."
