Soccer-mad youngsters at Scotts Park Primary School proved themselves ahead of the field in coaching sessions run by Crystal Palace FC's football in the community project.
Year 5 pupil Jacob Marsh was surprised and delighted to be named the Most improved player' at the school in Orchard Road, Bromley.
The 10-year-old received a certificate from headteacher John Statton during a special assembly, as well as two tickets to Palace's home game against Sheffield United last Saturday.
Chelsea fan Jacob, of Nightingale Lane, Bromley, said: "I didn't expect to win anything, so it was a big shock when my name was called out. I'm really pleased."
