Forty people, including fund-raisers who organised events such as the Mayor's golf day, the Raven's Ait ball and McCluskey's fashion show over the past year, attended the cheque presentation ceremony on Tuesday, May 9, at the Guildhall.
Brid Hancock, the Mayor's secretary, said: "We did extremely well.
Clive Piggott came expecting £2,000 and received almost £12,500. He was bowled over."
