A masonic chain similar to the one reported stolen.
THE hunt for a burglar who raided a home and escaped with jewellery, cash and a computer continued this week with a fresh appeal for information from police.
The burglar struck at the home in Fairfield Way, Totland Bay, between Saturday, January 30 and Sunday, January 31.
An Acer laptop and a safe — with property deeds, a large amount of dollars and euros, a woman’s wedding and engagement rings and masonic chains — were discovered missing.
"I am gutted. This burglary has badly affected my health and traumatised my family. Some of the items stolen belonged to my late wife," said the homeowner, who wished to remain anonymous.
"It was the anniversary of her death in February and this burglary could not have come at a worst time."
DC Lee Torrence, investigating officer, said: "We are following several lines of inquiry and I would like to appeal again to the community for any information about the whereabouts of these stolen items.
"Some of them are very distinctive and have great sentimental value to the victim."
