THE first Isle of Wight Shakespeare Festival kicks off tomorrow (Wednesday).

The event has been organised by the Isle of Wight Shakespeare Company and will take place over two days at East Dene, Bonchurch.

The festival will include workshops, a 'Midsummer Market', a journey through the sonnets with 'Elizabethans in Love' and a production of 'Twelfth Night' by mainland theatre company 'Oddbox'.

Headlining both days of the event is the company’s own production of 'A Midsummer Night’s Dream', directed by Hannah Brewer.

To round off the festival, the IWSC is hosting the 'Grand Faerie Ball' in aid of Parkinson’s UK. The ball will include live music, food, a 'faerie photo booth' and entertainment from the company players themselves.

Organisers have also encouraged guests to get in on the act by wearing appropriate costumes.

Tickets for all events are on sale now at http://iowshakespeare.moonfruit.com
