Ken Jarvie and the players and staff have had a tiring last two weeks having had to play two cup finals on consecutive nights, and four league games.

Last Monday Croydon faced Woking in the Surrey Senior Cup Final and despite losing 1-0 the difference between the Conference side and Croydon was hard to see.

Croydon always looked the better side in the second half despite injuries to Jamie Ndah and Chris Dickson. But the equaliser was not to be and Croydon had to settle for the runners up medals.

But on Tuesday at Purfleet Croydon rose to the occasion and won the Full Members Cup against Ryman Premier Division high flyers Purfleet.

With the players having played Woking the night before one would have expected the worst but this was not the case and Croydon always looked in control and struck two goals in the space of four minutes.

At the end of the first half, young striker Nick McDonnell scored the first and was responsible for the second when he was brought down for a penalty. Ebben Allen scored from the spot. The second half saw Purfleet pressure but Croydon retained full control of the game.

There were jubilant scenes after the final whistle when players, manager Ken Jarvie and his staff were presented with the cup marking their double triumph.
