REGISTRATION for the Isle of Wight's biggest fundraising event opened today (Monday).
Walk the Wight, organised by the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, will take place on Sunday, May 12, and the hospice team hope this year will be as successful as previous years, when over 11,000 participants registered.
Participants can tackle the main walk — a 26.5 mile trek across the Island from Bembridge to The Needles Park at Alum Bay — or take part in a section of the marathon.
Fundraisers can either walk 12.5 miles from Bembridge to Carisbrooke or register themselves in the 14 mile route from Carisbrooke to Alum Bay.
Participants can also enter the increasingly popular Flat Walk the Wight, an eight mile route between Sandown Bay Academy and Thompson's Trees, near Newport.
Anyone who wants to take part must register by Friday, May 3, however registration is free.
Anyone wishing to apply can visit the hospice website or collect registration forms from all hospice shops.
