THE Island’s Best Kept Village Awards have been launched and will be judged between April and May.
There are five categories: best extra large village, best large village, best medium village and best small village. The winner of the best overall village, sponsored by W. Hurst and Son, will not be announced until the presentation evening at a date and venue still to be announced.
Outside war memorials will also be judged and there will be an award for a conservation project.
Jenny Goodall, secretary of the awards, can be phoned on 01983 883548 or e-mailed on jennygoodall20@gmail.com
Jenny is looking for a suitable hall to host the presentation evening, which needs to hold 75 people, have a kitchen and parking for around 50 cars.
