Daggers in freefall.

Hendon 3 Dagenham & redbridge 0.

(Ryman Premier Division).

Daggers continued their freefall from the top of the table with another disappointing display at Hendon.

Their startling loss of form has seen them take just 17 points from their last 17 games and has left boss Ted Hardy mystified.

Its been a funny old year, he said. Weve been as bad since Christmas as we were good before.

The first half saw both teams struggle to adjust to the windy conditions, and there were few chances created by either side.

The best Daggers could offer was a tempting cross from Danny Shipp which was just inches in front of the stretching Paul Cobb.

Paul Gothard in goal was only called upon to deal with a couple of significant efforts.

The second half was where it all went horribly wrong for the visitors, as within a short space of time they found themselves 3-0 down.

The first came when a throw wasnt cleared properly allowing Junior Lewis, tormentor of Leyton Orient earlier in the season in the FA Cup, to steal in for a header, then Freddie Hyatt curled home a free kick.

The third Hendon goal came from a Paul Kelly shot which Gothard reached, but couldnt stop crawling over the line.

Daggers hardly produced any chances of their own, save a Danny Shipp run which was crowded out and Hendon ran out comfortable winners.

It was a rough day, added Hardy. But I cant blame the wind because both teams had to put up with it.

It was the bare bones of the squad out there and they just werent up to it.
