THE Force was with Vectis Remnant Squad Storm-trooper Ben Allen when he was named Trooper of the Year by Star Wars enthusiasts for his charity work.
Ben, of Park Road, Cowes, was presented with the certificate at a Comicon (comics convention) by the UK Garrison, the official British fan group for the hit film franchise.
Back in July, Ben walked 150 miles from the Isle of Wight to London, dressed in full Imperial Stormtrooper gear, to raise funds for the Joe Ellis Trust, which supports children with cancer.
He was inspired by an Australian stormtrooper, who walked the circumference of his country to raise money for charity.
Ben raised a massive £6,804 during his walk and received a hero’s welcome when he arrived in London.
During his walk, he was accompanied by his friends, Matthew Mew and Simon Cherry, and attended the Star Wars Celebration at the London Excel Centre.
His trek was the equivalent of seven back-to-back Walk the Wights. His walk took in the New Forest, Salisbury and Stonehenge before a rest at Heathrow and the final leg into Central London.
