WHILE eight-year-old Evie Lacey was watching the snow melt on Saturday she caught sight of the elusive 'Brighstone Stork'.
Evie managed to get a couple of photos of the bird, which has made several appearances in the area over the last few months.
The white stork was sitting on the roof of a house in Wilberforce Road, and stayed there quite a while.
When Evie showed the homeowners what was on their roof, they joked that the stork was late — they have a month old baby girl.
It seems the stork, or storks, got lost on their way to Africa last year. They are off-course and not often seen in the UK, but this one has been spotted by several County Press readers since its arrival on the Island.
