TREES fell victim to the storm this weekend, which also caused flooding and disrupted ferry services.

Firefighters were called to a number of highways incidents across the Island, which included fallen trees at Brading Down and Yaverland.

Winds of 100mph were recorded at The Needles, while the torrential rain resulted in flooding in rural areas and in some towns, including Cowes.

Ferry services were severely disrupted with the Wightlink car ferry from Portsmouth to Fishbourne being the only service running at one stage on Saturday.
