ORGANISERS of the first FolkStation festival held at Green Barn Field near Porchfield have hailed the event as a huge success — despite the soggy summer weather doing its best to dampen down proceedings.
This year the festival, previously held at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway in Havenstreet, featured its widest ever variety of acts.
Festival-goers braved showers and mud to listen to a huge selection of tunes from 27 acts who performed over the three-day festival at the weekend.
Malcolm Hector, a director of FolkStation said: "Such weather was completely unprecedented, we’ve never seen weather like this before. But we adapted, the campsite team worked tirelessly to rearrange the parking and camping and the end result was fantastic, despite the difficulties we faced.
"I’d like to thank our hardy team of helpers for their unwavering support and hard work to get the festival up and running this year."
