NEW Flackwell Heath boss Neil Catlin bemoaned his team's misfortune as they failed to grab a point in his first match in charge.
Flackwell, playing Wingate & Finchley, were looking to get off the bottom of Ryman League's Division Three on Saturday and were drawing 1-1 thanks to Gregg Murphy's penalty on 51 minutes
But Wingate then scored two goals on 82 and 90 minutes to win 3-1 and take all three points.
Catlin said: "We deserved at least a point. We had chances to go 3-1 up and then went 2-1 down.
"When you're down at the bottom, that type of thing tends to happen."
But Catlin was not too disappointed with the match.
He said: "I was happy with the lads. It was the first time I'd seen them and they're a good bunch of lads.
"There were lots of positives. It's just a matter of scoring more goals."
The Flackwell player-manager has already made a number of signings for Flackwell, with the experienced Alan Paris coming in from Borehamwood, as well as forward Gary Wiltshire and Jon Pettifer, from first-division Windsor.
Flackwell are playing mid-table Corinthian Casuals tomorrow away from home with Catlin looking to his team to perform over the next lot of games.
He said: "They're all going to be battles until the end of the season."
