Surfing dog on crest of TV wave

Sherrie on the surfboard at Dunroamin Beach.

A SURFING Labrador from Lake will feature in a documentary series called Britain’s Strangest Pets, on Channel Five.

Salty sea dog Sherrie, a chocolate Labrador, regularly makes waves with her surfing antics on the beach. Owners Kevin and Pauline Fallon, of Sandham Gardens, introduced Sherrie to the surf when she was six months old and she took to it like a dog to water.

She is a regular and much photographed attraction at Dunroamin Beach.

The TV programme, shown on Wednesdays, will show her at Compton Beach and also cover her home life.

Sherrie is on Wightlink’s current Pawprint brochure, aimed at dog owning tourists and is also featured in next year’s Earl Mountbatten Hospice calender.

Compton beach? Surely not filmed in the summer? Thought dogs were banned from there? Great doggie though ;-)
