SEVENTIES glam rock star Suzi Quatro will be the main attraction on ladies’ night in the Big Top at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival.

The American rocker, who had hits with 48 Crash, Devilgate Drive and Can the Can in the early Seventies, will be supported by a number of diverse female acts on the Friday night.

Juliette Lewis, current favourite Marina and the Diamonds, uber-cool Mini Viva and Shakespear’s Sister, fronted by Siobhan Fahey, will all play, along with upcoming new acts Wom4n, Daisy Dares You and I Blame Coco.

After emerging with a bang in 2004 as a hugely successful musician, Juliette Lewis released her third album, Terra Incognita, last year, unveiling a new and exciting sound. Renowned for her stage presence, the Big Top crowds will experience Lewis’s punk rock attitude at its best.

Sensation in waiting Marina Diamandis is currently enjoying chart success and critical acclaim with her debut album The Family Jewels.

Currently riding high in the charts with the single Hollywood and proving pop is cooler than it ever has been, Marina and the Diamonds are also on the bill.

Shakespear’s Sister was formed in 1988 by ex-Bananarama singer-songwriter Siobhan Fahey and, along with Marcella Detroit, enjoyed massive success with worldwide hits including Stay and You’re History.

In 2009, Fahey began performing again and released a new album entitled Songs From The Red Room.

Next on the bill are Frankee and Britt, who make up the duo Mini Viva. Bursting on to the scene with the summer hit Left My Heart In Tokyo, they are bringing girl power up to date for a new decade.

Also taking to the stage on the night are new supergroup Wom4n.

The four girls, Mazz Murray, Gina Murray, A. J. Casey and Emma Kershaw are among the finest singers and musicians in the country and give much-loved rock songs a female touch.

Their single, I’m A Woman, with Queen guitarist Brian May and recorded at Abbey Road Studios (courtesy of EMI) is being released in aid of Breast Cancer.

Fifteen-year-old Daisy Coburn, better known as Daisy Dares You is widely tipped as the UK’s answer to Avril Lavigne. Daisy is hailed as the next big thing in 2010 thanks to her unique brand of exuberant pop rock.

• Blame Coco, fronted by Coco Sumner, are about to drop one of the finest debuts of 2010, The Constant.

The 19-year-old star in the making has worked on the album singularly since the age of 15 only to scrap it all last year to re-write it to her own, exact specifications.
