INTEREST has poured-in for the inaugural cross-Solent charity swim organised by round-the-Island swimmer Anna Wardley.

Half the 24 places have already been snapped-up for the event — a 2.5 nautical-mile swim from Stokes Bay, Gosport, to Ryde Sands on Sunday, August 17.

It will raise substantial funds for the Island-based Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust with each swimmer pledging to raise a minimum of £700 in sponsorship, £200 of which is payable at the time of registering.

For a registration pack, contact Clare Ryan: clare.ryan@emcancertrust.org or 01983 297750.
