INTEREST has poured-in for the inaugural cross-Solent charity swim organised by round-the-Isle of Wight swimmer Anna Wardley.

Half the 24 places have already been snapped-up for the event — a 2.5 nautical mile swim from Stokes Bay, Gosport, to Ryde Sands on Sunday, August 17.

It will raise substantial funds for the Island-based Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust with each swimmer pledging to raise a minimum of £700 in sponsorship, £200 of which is payable at the time of registering.

Anna completed her own incredible swimming challenge last year, swimming 150 miles around the Isle of Wight, Dragonera, Portsea, Jersey and Tiree.

For a registration pack, contact Clare Ryan, via clare.ryan@emcancertrust.org or 01983 297750.
