HARLOW Council's budget for the next financial year includes £40,000 for a Golden Jubilee Spectacular.

The council have put a freeze on the price of bus passes for elderly and disabled people at a cost of £118,000.

Council leader Alan Jones said: "Almost 5,000 local people depend on their bus passes to get around, so this is a very important service to Harlow."

The council will also pump £25,000 into a mediation service to tackle neighbour disputes, and with £100,000 launch an environmental enforcement team to deal with people who dump rubbish or abandon cars.
