Teenager cleared of raping child

AN ISLAND teenager who was accused of raping a child of ten has been cleared following a five-day trial at the Isle of Wight Crown Court.
Tristan Wade, 18, now of Reginald Road, Southsea, had pleaded not guilty to a charge of rape, which was alleged to have taken place on the Island between December 1 and December 20 last year.
He was also cleared by the jury of an alternative charge of sexual assault to which he had also pleaded not guilty and which was said to have taken place between November 1 and December 20 last year.
