A TEENAGER was injured as he tried to break up a fight between two groups at Newport bus station in the early hours of Sunday morning, according to Isle of Wight police.
A police spokeswoman said the 19-year-old man suffered cuts to his eye and other facial injuries after he intervened in a fight between the groups at the Route 5 bus stop at about 1.40am.
The teenager, who was knocked down and kicked and punched repeatedly, needed hospital treatment for his injuries, according to police.
