Teenager injured in horse fall

HORSES that went on the run in Ryde this morning (Friday) have been rounded up.

The eight horses, which were tacked up, were reported loose at around 10am in the St John’s area.

A 14-year-old girl was taken to St Mary’s Hospital, after falling from one of the animals., according to police.

Isle of Wight police were called and another rider helped to round up the remaining animals, which had all been retrieved by 11:17am.

*At around 4pm an Isle of Wight NHS spokeswoman confirmed the teenager had been discharged from hospital.
